Faculty Physician – Maternal-Fetal Medicine (Assistant Professor – Academic or Clinician Track)

The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women's Health at the University of Minnesota is recruiting an additional faculty member to join a very active Maternal-Fetal Medicine program. 

Amazing opportunity to:

  • Join a supportive team of 11 MFM colleagues who enjoy what they do and are devoted to patient-centered clinical care.
  • Actively contribute to teaching medical students, residents, fellows and other learners.
  • Participate in ongoing MFM quality/safety metrics and other scholarly contributions and the opportunity to develop or participate in clinical and/or basic science research studies.
  • Utilize protected time with 3.5 clinical days per week (annual average) and no call when not on service.
  • Enjoy no in-house call and MFM consultative call only when on service (~5-6 weeks/year).
Clinical activities are primarily consultative and ultrasound. Facilities include a Maternal-Fetal Medicine Center on the University of Minnesota Medical Center Campus consisting of:

  • Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment Center
  • Perinatal Assessment Center
  • Fully integrated Ultrasound Unit and reporting system (22 machines at 6 Twin Cities sites).
  • Telemedicine Unit providing ultrasound and consultation capability to rural Minnesota.
  • 5 outreach sites in greater Twin Cities
The Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine is the largest academic program in the upper Midwest region. The program is designed to deliver the highest quality, evidence-based care as part of a collaborative team to women experiencing high risk pregnancies, while also providing an immersive learning experience for medical students, residents and fellows in the department. With numerous outreach clinics and telemedicine services, the MFM division provides care for patients throughout the region. Our board-certified faculty physicians are nationally recognized in their fields of interest including education, quality and safety, reproductive infectious diseases, substance abuse in pregnancy and many others.

Qualifications: 

  • Graduate of an accredited ACGME OB/GYN residency and Maternal-Fetal medicine fellowship training program.  
  • Board eligible/certified with the ABOG MFM Board.
  • Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure. 
  • Ability to obtain/maintain DEA certification in the State of Minnesota 
  • Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges 
  • Ability to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of VISA category while in the United States.?
Preferred Qualifications: 

  • ABOG MFM Board Certification within 4 years of hire is minimum requirement.
  • Three or more years experience in an academic practice is preferred.
  • Experience with CVS and/or fetal procedures is highly desirable.
