Mount Sinai Health System seeks a Medical Director for subacute rehabilitation center on the Upper West Side!
We invite expressions of interest in being the next Medical Director, Amsterdam House, the renowned 400-bed subacute rehabilitation, long-term care and palliative care institution on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.
For more than 100 years, Amsterdam House has had an integral place in the lives of the Upper West Side community, providing outstanding support and care across the continuum of need, from short-term post-hospitalization and post-surgical rehabilitation to longer term care for individuals requiring round-the-clock care to palliative care and hospice. Featuring a state-of-the art rehabilitation center and staff, beautiful outdoor gardens, private and semi-private rooms, and dedicated medical, nursing and support staff, Amsterdam House is recognized as a distinctive and excellent resource for UWS patients and their families.
Building on work first started in 2016, Amsterdam House and Mount Sinai Morningside leadership are excited for the next chapter of cross-institutional collaboration, aligning resources and managing population-based needs, towards the further betterment of Amsterdam House residents’ lives.
We are actively recruiting for a new leader with a passion for the older generation, keen operational skills, interest in population health, superb communication skills, and a desire to have a broad impact on the lives of many. This leadership role will have support from Mount Sinai Morningside, the MSHS Network, and the Departments of Medicine and Geriatrics. We believe there is opportunity to make Amsterdam House a national leader in delivering superb care and support while meeting the needs of the population to deliver on important outcomes such as improving diabetes and depression care, expanding the array of on-site clinical services available to Amsterdam House residents, and furthering the core principles of palliative care. The new Medical Director will have significant opportunity to help craft the path forward in this vision.
Candidates will have 3-5 years of professional experience post-training, including a demonstrable record of productivity, engagement in team-based models of care management, and defined operational experience (for instance, as a Medical Director, Unit Director, or clinical program director).
Preferred qualifications include: Board certification in Geriatric Medicine and Board certification in Palliative Care
