The Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences in the Emory University School of Medicine seeks a Director for the Division of Breast Imaging. As part of the only academic radiology department in one of the largest and fastest growing cities in the United States, this large division (approximately 15 faculty and 5 fellows annually) provides comprehensive breast imaging services at 7 hospitals and affiliated imaging sites of our large academic health system. The division supports a premier breast imaging fellowship program and is integral to the success of Emory’s highly ranked diagnostic radiology residency. A new health science research facility is being constructed which will house Emory’s Center for System Imaging, including comprehensive PET and high-field MRI programs.
The Emory University Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences houses state-of-the-art resources in a vibrant academic and expanding multihospital and outpatient system with a large subspecialized clinical and research faculty in a supportive, diverse, and collegial environment. Emory operates the premier healthcare system in Georgia and has the only NCI designated comprehensive cancer center in the state with an additional new cancer hospital opening in 2023. Ideal candidates should possess the operational skills and leadership vision to successfully guide the division in a rapidly expanding academic department with a growing community practice that is at the forefront of innovation, education, and research. Candidates should have demonstrated enthusiasm in fostering faculty development and mentoring the next generation of leaders and interest in working and learning in diverse interdisciplinary teams. Desired qualities also include the ability to grow the division in its clinical, research, and educational missions in alignment with broader departmental and institutional strategies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent, a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in breast imaging, ABR Board certified and eligible to obtain an unrestricted Georgia medical license. Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with experience and accomplishments.
