Endocrinologist

Scott & White Clinic seeks an Endocrinologist in the Temple/Killeen, Texas area.  The Endocrinologist will provide direct patient care. May provide medical oversight through feedback and coaching for care provided by professional medical staff to include nurse practitioners, physician assistants and nurse clinicians who are otherwise administratively supervised by their individual managers Endocrinologists see patients ranging from adult to geriatrics, and focus on the diagnosis and management of hormonal illnesses and their complications. Such illnesses include diabetes mellitus, thyroid disorders, parathyroid disorders, adrenal disorders, pituitary disorders, gonadal disorders, and bone disorders. An endocrinologist requires additional training (completion of an ACGME accredited fellowship program) and the diagnosis and management of such endocrine disorders require a highly specialized level of care not obtainable outside of an endocrine practice for such patients. Such diagnosis and treatment modalities available in an endocrine practice include, e.g., onsite testing for endocrine disorders (such as Cosyntropin stimulation tests for adrenal insufficiency), thyroid biopsies, subcutaneous and intravenous treatment of osteoporosis.

Medical degree in Medicine or foreign equivalent and 36 months internal medicine residency and 24 months in endocrinology fellowship, must be board certified in internal medicine and board certified or eligible in endocrinology, and must possess a valid medical license to practice medicine in Texas, intermittent travel possible between patient care sites in Temple/Killeen, Texas as clinic needs and business necessitates.
