VA BOSTON HEALTH CARE SYSTEM
The Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the VA Boston Healthcare System (VABHS) is seeking a full-time orthopedic surgeon with residency in orthopedics, and fellowship in orthopedic surgery.
Completion of an accredited training program in orthopedics with additional independent experience in basic hand surgery, joint arthroplasty, trauma, and arthroscopy needed. Fellowship training is preferred. Successful candidates will have an outstanding clinical and academic track record with interest in the education of residents and fellows. Teaching trainees is a major component of this position. Selection will be made based on experience, leadership, and ability to perform a wide range of orthopedic procedures, including hand trauma.
The VABHS Orthopedics department is affiliated with Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH), Harvard Medical School (HMS), and Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM). Credentials should allow for appointment as an Instructor, Assistant, or Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School or Boston University School of Medicine.
Candidates must be Board Eligible or American Board Certified in orthopedics, and possess a full, active, and unrestricted license in any state. U.S. Citizenship is required.
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Recruitment/Relocation incentives will be considered.
