Job Description Summary
Provides leadership and oversight of system wide supply related logistics, inventory management, purchasing and master data management. Utilizes metrics and organization vision to lead the development of short- and long-term material priorities and operational objectives to ensure a consistent and optimal approach to supply chain operations within the various care settings across the health system. Ensures deployment of innovative and effective inventory management, purchasing and data strategies seamlessly work through an interwoven approach with market leaders to support the needs of our caregivers. Establishes and enhances relationships through intentional connectivity strategies both within and outside the organization.
Job Description
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops and implements processes that drive measurable performance and productivity of a team responsible for buying, inventory and master data management. Oversees all phases of material and equipment buying and management processes. Ensures necessary approvals and communications flow to and from team and executive leadership within each market.
- Oversees the material management function for all facilities across the organization. Requests and coordinates information as needed. Conducts meetings on material management subjects as needed.
- Standardizes purchasing policies and ensures consistent supplies and equipment procurement for all organization entities. Oversees a surplus supply and equipment program to ensure maximum utilization within the organization with global support of other organizations.
- Serves as a member of the leadership team providing strategic direction. Works effectively as a team member in a dynamic executive environment in a matrix organization, and promotes teamwork within and across the organization by maintaining positive relationships and utilizing effective problem solving skills.
- Assumes fiscal responsibility through budgetary planning and implementation. Establishes and monitors process improvement initiatives to achieve value based outcome metrics.
- Establishes and maintains professional and ethical relationships with internal and external leaders.
- Oversees human resource management for the assigned area creating a culture of employee engagement. Ensures HR policies are administered consistently across function. Organizes materials management through appropriate structure and delegation of functions. Identifies succession planning needs within the team.

- Master's degree
EXPERIENCE
- Ten years' experience, with five years' in leadership
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
- Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
- Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
- Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
- Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
- Rare climbing.
