The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine is growing!
We are seeking ABA board certified or board eligible anesthesiologists at all levels of academic rank (instructor, assistant, associate and full professor) to join our expanding department in the Mount Sinai Health System. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, qualified, energetic, team orientated and comfortable taking care of a wide variety of patients many of whom are ASA 3 and ASA 4. While we are primarily seeking generalists those with fellowship subspecialization training are encouraged to apply.
Our Department currently has about 150 anesthesiologists and trains nearly 200 house staff officers in 2 fully accredited ACGME residencies and 10 ACGME and non ACGME fellowships. Our faculty usually work in a team-based model with house staff and CRNAs and perform more than 100,000 anesthetics each year in 4 hospitals and several ambulatory and office-based locations. This year our residency program was ranked # 18 in U.S. New and World Report

Mount Sinai Hospital is the flagship hospital of the Mount Sinai Health System. It is located on Manhattan s Upper East Side and cares for a very wide range of patients that are typically very complex. It features an internationally renowned cardiac surgical program, one of the country s most active transplant departments, a large head and neck cancer-reconstructive service, one of the top ranked colo-rectal surgery programs and the busiest vascular surgery service in NYC.
Mount Sinai West is located on the West Side a short distance from Broadway and Lincoln Center. It is the only hospital located on the west side of Manhattan from its tip to 113th Street where its sister hospital Mount Sinai Morningside is located. Mount Sinai West is a full service hospital that specializes in orthopedics, gastro-intestinal cancer and obstetrics .It is certified by SOAP as a Center of Excellence and the Joint Commission as a Center of Excellence for Total Joint Replacement.
Mount Sinai Morningside is located adjacent to the Columbia University undergraduate campus and abuts the beautiful Morningside Park. It is a level II trauma center and the only hospital in the Mount Sinai System dedicated to trauma care. It has a cutting edge cardiac surgical program that complements the one at Mount Sinai Hospital and is also a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence.
Mount Sinai Queens in Astoria is a community hospital in a brand new facility. Orthopedics, ENT, general and vascular surgery are performed there, but there is no cardiac surgery, obstetrics or pediatrics. It s a certified stroke center and a tremendous community asset.
