Cape Fox Shared Services and Eagle Health are accepting resumes for an Occupational Health Physician (MD or DO) to work full time at the FDA in White Oak, MD.

The Staff Physician FDA Occupational Health position provides medical care, treatment, and counseling to FDA employees, administration of FDA surveillance programs and works as part of a team to coordinate services provided in the FDA health units in the National Capital Region and at other FDA national sites.

  • Provide medical care, treatment, and counseling to FDA employees with work-related injuries and illnesses occurring during health unit hours
  • Provide emergency treatment for both personal and work-related medical problems that occur on FDA premises regardless of whether the individual is a federal worker.
  • Promptly identity and stabilize emergent occupational or non-occupational medical problems and assist in arranging for transfer.
  • Respond to occupational injuries and illness visits and emergencies occurring during health unit hours
  • Respond to exposures to biological and/or chemical hazards during health unit hours
  • Provide initial and related follow-up care to all federal and nonfederal workers whose injury involves a potential exposure to a hazard that could not readily be treated in the community or is of special interest to the FDA.
  • Provide medical support for federal employees on official government service international travel for the FDA including immunizations and prophylactic medications as well as medical advice provided for travel visits is current, complete, and timely.
  • Assist in the administration of cohort and surveillance programs including the Animal Exposure Program, Select Agent Program, Hearing Conservation Program, Pathogen-Specific Occupational Medical Surveillance Program, Respiratory Protection Program, Blood Borne Pathogen Exposure Control, Tuberculosis Surveillance Program, and Laser and Vision Protection Program.
  • Provide medical care, treatment, and counseling to FDA employees with work-related injuries and illnesses occurring during health unit hours
  • Provide emergency treatment for both personal and work-related medical problems that occur on FDA premises regardless of whether the individual is a federal worker.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduate of college or university, medical school and residency training
  • By the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) in Occupational and Environmental Medicine
  • By the State Board of Medical Examiners in the State where the Physician practices
  • Two years of postgraduate clinical experience as a Physician in occupational health
  • Biannual certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Sit or Stand throughout a regular work day
  • Ability to work on computer for long periods
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with minimal oversight
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Some travel may be required
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
