The Chief Medical Information Officer, CMIO, serves as a leadership partner to integrate information technology into clinical practice and research to promote the highest possible quality, safety, and evidence-based patient care.  The CMIO is, at its heart, a job that deals with clinical applications, marrying the fundamentals of medicine to facilitate quality of care across all delivery venues resulting in the delivery of optimal patient care through the design, development, and successful implementation of processes while ensuring the Organization’s strategic goals and objectives are achieved.  

Key to this role is the development, implementation and championing of the clinical information systems enterprise-wide for the System.  This role is pivotal in assisting the medical staff in the delivery of the highest quality, most appropriate patient care, data collection and management for the improvement of operational and quality standards, as well as conducting research.  This position is the leading member of the IT physician planning process, representing the needs and requirements of the clinical community while serving as an advocate for the medical and clinical staff for the promotion and use of information technology in clinical settings.  Fundamental to this role is the ability to partner with executives (system-wide and regional), physicians, other members of the Information Services team, vendors, etc. to translate clinical requirements into specifications for new clinical support and research systems.  Additionally, the CMIO will provide direction and oversight for the IT component of population health, health information exchange, analytics, quality, research and innovation programs.
• Medical Doctoral degree required with Board eligible or certified in specialty
• Active/current and unencumbered license in the State of Florida required  
• Minimum of three (3) years clinical practice is required  
• Prior experience with Informatics is required  - Cerner experience highly preferred
