Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics

The Division of General Gynecology & Obstetrics is seeking experienced physicians for a hospitalist position centered on obstetric triage and emergency gynecology consultation. Duties and Responsibilities: Primary clinical responsibilities would be in the Division of General Gynecology & Obstetrics at Emory Decatur Hospital. Work would be focused on obstetric triage, labor management, and emergency gynecology consultation. Responsibilities also include participation in the Obstetric Rapid Response Team, and urgent inpatient and outpatient obstetrics and gynecologic surgery.
Candidates should be comfortable providing a broad spectrum of obstetrical and gynecologic care to medically complex patients. This position will work four 12-hour day time shifts during the week, Monday through Friday and two 12-hour weekend shifts per month. More shifts may be available as needs arise.

This role would supervise any mid-level providers assigned to the clinical practice location.

Emory Decatur Hospital is not currently a primary site for learners although some learners may rotate onto the service. All Emory providers are expected to demonstrate outstanding activity in the teaching aspects of the Department. Specifically, this would include providing teaching instruction and supervision to healthcare learners in Gynecology and Obstetrics.

Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must have a terminal degree (MD or DO), successfully completed a 4year ACGME-accredited obstetrics and gynecology residency program and be Board Eligible or Board Certified in obstetrics and gynecology. Licensure by the Georgia Composite Medical Board will be required prior to commencement of employment.
