Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) of Rutgers University invites applications and nominations for the position of Vice Chancellor for Population Health. The Vice Chancellor for Population Health (VCPH) has responsibility for building and aligning population health efforts across Rutgers Biomedical Health Sciences and Rutgers Health and  linking population health efforts with University Hospital in Newark. Part of the RBHS Chancellor's leadership team, the VCPH reports to the Chancellor primarily through the Senior Vice Chancellor for Clinical Affairs for clinical and clinical learning environment matters and secondarily through the Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Research for education and research matters.  The VCPH also serves as a member-in-residence of the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research (IFH), part of the leadership team of IFH, and will likely have a leadership role as well within the School of Public Health.  The VCPH will establish the Rutgers Consortium of Population Health a cross-bridging organization for population health investigators, educators, learners, and clinicians to find new opportunities for collaboration and for scholarship through team science to innovate in the population health arena.  The VCPH also leverages existing CORE structures to set an innovative platform for data-driven science to inform and evaluate the impact of population health initiatives and health care delivery initiatives.

Interested candidates should have a doctoral degree or highest terminal degree appropriate for field, as well as MS or PhD research training in some population health related field.  At least 20 years of experience as a clinician delivering clinical care, substantial and prolonged administrative experience running or building one or more academic programs, demonstrated excellence in teaching, and an active and funded research and track record in population health related efforts, sufficient to qualify for a tenured faculty position at Rutgers University as Professor or Distinguished Professor in the appropriate clinical school (medicine, nursing, dentistry, pharmacy, or health professions), as well as deserving a secondary appointment in the School of Public Health.
