Emory University is a leading research university. The Department of Pathology and Laboratory is seeking applicants for a full-time academic position in Molecular Diagnostics based at Grady Memorial Hospital in downtown Atlanta.

Grady is a large public academic hospital which serves Atlanta and the surrounding community. It is the major training site for Emory School of Medicine and Morehouse School of Medicine. Grady houses a nationally certified level one Major Trauma center, an American Burn Association verified Burn Center, and a Comprehensive Stroke Center. The hospital serves a large and diverse population including a sizeable sickle cell population, a considerable international population, and a significant HIV/AIDS population. Emory University has one of the largest AP/CP residencies in the country, 12 accredited subspecialty fellowships, and close ties to the NCI-designated Winship Cancer Center, creating abundant opportunities for clinical and translational scholarship and teaching (see www.pathology.emory.edu).

We seek a non-tenure track molecular pathologist to expand our molecular diagnostics testing menu into molecular oncology testing. Future expansion into other areas is expected. The successful candidate is expected to have experience in new test development, from choice of methodology to reporting. Specific experience in developing and reviewing next generation sequencing tests is highly desirable.

Applicants must hold MD and/or PhD degrees and be ABP or ACMGG board eligible or certified in molecular diagnostics. MD candidates must be eligible for medical licensure in Georgia. Compensation and faculty rank will be commensurate with qualifications.

Candidates should apply online by clicking Apply Now to be considered. Candidates should also submit: (1) a letter indicating their professional experience, research interests and future goals; (2) a curriculum vitae; and (3) copies of up to three significant publications sent to: Karen Mann, MD, PhD in care of Ms. Rhonda Everett at reveret@emory.edu
