TCC has an extensive rural health care system to support health and promote wellness to Indian Health Service beneficiaries—Alaska Natives & American Indians, as well as many non-beneficiaries, in  42 villages situated across the river systems of the Interior (Yukon, Koyukuk, Kuskokwim, Tanana and more). Where We Are:

The Upper Tanana Health Center South is located in the rural community of Tok, Alaska. Tok is situated at the strategic intersection of the Alaska Highway and the Tok Cut Off from which travelers driving into Alaska from Canada can either continue north towards Delta(1.75 hours) and Fairbanks(3.5 hours) in the Interior Region or head southwest to Anchorage (6 hours)

We are screening for providers with a sense of adventure, a love for rural medicine and the respect and humility to serve in a team approach in a multi-cultural setting.  The Upper Tanana Health Center is staffed with two Family Medicine physicians, RN, Medical Assistant and Health Aide. After hours and weekend call will be divided between 3 full time providers and we are looking to rotate additional staff from Fairbanks. Provider must be comfortable with responding to emergency medicine and trauma situations.  The patient population draws mainly from the communities of Tok, Tetlin, Northway, Tanacross and Dot Lake—as well as summer tourists.

Tok is well situated for anyone wanting to live a rural Alaskan lifestyle while still staying on the road system for convenient travel. Candidate must be comfortable living in a rural isolated community with limited amenities.  Fishing, hunting, aviation, backcountry adventures in the mountains or along the rivers—there is plenty to do if you love the outdoors. The foothills of the Delta Range Mountains are accessible just a short drive out of town & Wrangell-St. Elias National Park is south of Tok.  Eagle, Whitehorse, Fairbanks, Anchorage and all points in between are ready to visit and explore.
