Our vision is to achieve excellence in health equity research, clinical care and medical education. Our mission is to make IEHE a leader in the development, implementation and dissemination of evidence-based solutions to advance excellence in health equity. NYULH has taken a comprehensive approach to healthcare disparities by making health equity a priority in our enterprise and in concert with our tripartite mission of research, clinical care, and medical education. The Institute is seeking a Co-Director with the leadership and strategic vision to take NYULH's current investments in health equity to a new level of excellence.

The IEHE will advance the mission of health equity across our entire healthcare system. To achieve our goal, IEHE will leverage existing academic talent across NYULH to create a culture of inclusive excellence through four pillars: research, medical education, clinical systems, and community engagement. Undergirding all four IEHE pillars is mentorship and leadership programs designed to advance the next generation of trainees and faculty focused on advancing excellence in health equity. Each pillar has a goal. The research pillar will impact national policy on health equity through research. The medical education pillar will advance undergraduate and graduate medical education in health equity research, and practice. The clinical systems innovation pillar will adapt NYULH delivery systems to achieve health equity outcomes, while the community engagement pillar will advance health equity programs in the communities we serve. The IEHE, founded on two core values of NYULH - Diversity and Excellence - will be a magnet for talent, and an incubator for world-class leadership and inclusive excellence in health equity through research, clinical care, and medical education.

As IEHE Co-Director the successful candidate will report to the Director and help him realize IEHE’s mission as well as provide leadership to advance the strategic planning of its four core pillars. He or she will develop and maintain collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders, senior leadership within, and external to NYULH, in order to drive, support and model an inquisitive culture focused on innovative and high quality health equity research, medical education and clinical care. The successful candidate is expected to maintain a robust and extramurally funded program of research. He or she will be a vital member of several strategic committees at NYULH; and must have a broad skillset to navigate a highly complex organization. In addition to having the ability to collaborate in close partnership with NYULH leadership, he or she is expected to manage relationships across all faculty, trainees, and staff.

This position will hold an appropriate faculty appointment at NYU Grossman School of Medicine commensurate with candidate's experience.
