Chief Academic Officer| Division of Cardiovascular Medicine
The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is seeking a Chief Academic Officer at the associate professor or professor status with current NIH funding. This position requires an MD/PhD or PhD with experience in translational science and funding. The successful candidate will have the oversight responsibility for implementation of processes and develop research infrastructure, composition, faculty recruitment to target areas, clinical integration of researchers, as well as develop metrics and tracking mechanisms to ensure steady growth and financial stability of the research enterprise. The Ohio State University Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is setting new standards for advanced heart and vascular care through our internationally and nationally recognized experts of more than 60 cardiology and vascular medicine specialists. We offer heart and vascular patients some of the most exciting and innovative technologies, treatments and clinical trials, many of which are only available at Ohio State. The majority of our faculty are principal investigators on a variety of research projects in both the basic, translational and clinical research settings.

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of an accredited residency and fellowship training program in cardiovascular medicine
  • Board Eligible/Certified in ABIM; board certification or eligibility from appropriate sub-board specialty preferred.
  • Current NIH funding
  • Eligible for an Ohio License
  • Qualify for an academic appointment at The Ohio State University – Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with previous training and experience.

The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine
The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine comprised of over 60 cardiologists with focus areas to include: general cardiology, interventional, electrophysiology, adult congenital heart disease, heart failure, heart transplantation, mechanical circulatory assist, pulmonary vascular disease, women’s cardiovascular disease, cardiac MRI/CT, and cardio-oncology. The Division is affiliated with the Ross Heart Hospital which ranked as “Best Hospital” in the top 50 in the nation as reported by US News and World Report.   In addition to the 60 cardiologists, there are six fellowship programs: core cardiovascular medicine fellowship, interventional cardiology fellowship, electrophysiology fellowship, heart failure and cardiac transplant fellowship, adult congenital heart disease fellowship, and cardiovascular diagnostic imaging fellowship. The division provides services in over 12 counties in Ohio and Kentucky.
