Merck, Sharp & Dohme Corp. is seeking an Associate Vice President of Clinical Research Sub-Section Head, RCC for our Oncology, Clinical Research Group in Upper Gwynedd, PA.

Responsible for planning and directing clinical research activities involving new or marketed Oncology medicines. Merck’s Oncology medicines span all phases of clinical development (pre-clinical to post-licensure).  The Associate Vice President of Clinical Research Sub-Section Head, RCC will manage the entire cycle of clinical development including study design, placement, monitoring, analysis, regulatory reporting, and publications. 

Also responsible for assessing cancer drug candidates for Merck, design and conduct clinical trials, and to present findings to both internal stakeholders and external regulators; overseeing the development, evaluation, and publication of various novel drug therapies; driving the development, utilization, and late-phase testing of novel drug treatments developed by Merck; serving as Merck’s Product Development Team Lead on various clinical trials; conducting various Phase III clinical trials for novel drug treatments, specifically in the area of kidney cancer treatment. 

Requirements:  MD and/or Ph.D. with a demonstrated record of scientific scholarship and achievement in oncology and hematology; at least 8 years of industry experience, expertise in molecular imaging and biomarkers in cancer developmental therapeutics, and a proven track record in clinical medicine with a background in biomedical research. 

Salary commensurate with experience, ranging from $275,000 to $467,000.
