Clinical Associate – General OBGYN  

The University of Chicago: Biological Sciences Division: Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology

Position Description

The University of Chicago's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology seeks a full-time Clinical Associate for a renewable two-year term. The appointee will have outpatient and inpatient responsibilities. Outpatient responsibilities will comprise outpatient clinic, consultation to gynecologic patients in the Emergency Department, and performance of emergent gynecologic surgeries. Inpatient responsibilities will include responsibility for the care of gynecologic inpatients and providing gynecologic consultative services to inpatients on other medical and surgical services.  Duties include coverage for day/night/weekend shifts as part of the Gynecologic Service.  We especially welcome applicants with an interest in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, and those with expertise in caring for emergent and/or complex gynecologic conditions. This position does not require formal teaching or scholarly activity. Compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) is dependent on qualifications.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, and 3) be Board certified or eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
