The Brody School of Medicine is actively seeking multidisciplinary faculty for our Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine.
Job Duties
The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at East Carolina University seeks an eligible candidate to help provide clinical services to one or any of the following locations:
- Medical Intensive Care Unit
- Cardiac Intensive Care Unit
- Inpatient Critical Care Consult Service
- Outpatient Pulmonary Clinic
- Sarcoidosis clinic, recently acknowledged as a center of excellence by World Association of Sarcoidosis and other Granulomatous Disorders (WASOG)
- Pulmonary vascular disease clinic
- Interstitial lung disease clinic
- Obstructive lung diseases clinic
- CPET and PFT testing
- Inpatient Pulmonary Consult Service
- Sleep Clinic
Our division has a multidisciplinary group of physicians from backgrounds that include pulmonary, critical care, emergency medicine, nephrology and infectious disease. Many of these individuals split time between these subspecialties to provide a broad range of education and care within our institution.
This is a flexible position which allows for participation in other academic, research and clinical pursuits. The Division is clinically productive, highly respected and actively involved in the training of medical students, residents and fellows through our affiliation with a single 974-bed tertiary care hospital.
The successful candidate will join our academic group at a rank commensurate with qualifications; tenure track or fixed-term appointment available at the rank / title of Assistant, Associate or Professor.
Organizational Unit Overview
The Brody School of Medicine is affiliated with Vidant Medical Center (VMC). VMC is a level 1 trauma center that is home to 24-bed Medical, Surgical, Cardiac, and Neurosurgical ICUs. VMC has been ranked one of the top 50 teaching hospitals in the United States.
Internal Medicine is a department within the Division of Heath Sciences and Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. The Department of Internal Medicine is comprised of ten divisions with over 85 full time faculty and 150 support staff members. Each of the divisions has its own specialty clinic.
Internal Medicine is home to seven fellowships and two residency programs. In recent years collaboration and funding have come from many national recognized organizations such as the National Institutes of Health, Health Resources and Service Administration, American Heart Association, NC Department of Human Health and Human Service. More locally, we have partnered with Vidant Medical Center Foundation, Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust, North Carolina Biotechnology Center, and the Pitt County Health Department. Additionally, Internal Medicine participates in many pharmaceutical sponsored clinical trials.
Minimum Education/Experience
MD, DO or MBBS from an appropriately accredited institution.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation
Must be able to obtain a North Carolina medical license by start date
BC or BE in Critical Care or Pulmonary/Critical Care
