In this key position, you will oversee, examine and medically manage patient work-related injuries. This will involve determining the cause of each injury, the work related-apportionment of the injury, and the patient’s activity status.
You will:
* Determine neuro-musculoskeletal conditions, including trigger point, tendon sheath, and intra-articular joint injections
* Conduct disability case reviews with advanced practice providers
* Develop a medical plan of action, including the need for permanent restrictions
* Determine when patient has reached maximum medical improvement (MMI).
* Conduct disability case reviews with Risk Management Disability managers
* Manage complex patient cases to determine the need for additional diagnostic testing, specialty consultation, and indicated procedures
* Complete MMI reports
* Perform pre-placement physicals
* Maintain exams for UCLA personnel, including BSL-3 researchers and commercial motor vehicle drivers
* Collaborate with clinical staff to improve work flow and patient outcomes
* Attend interdepartmental meetings relating to workers’ compensation care and employee health
* Collaborate with Occupational Health Medical Director to ensure ideal clinical staffing, patient care, and intradepartmental communication

Qualifications
We’re seeking an exceptionally gifted leader with:
- MD or DO
- Board certification through the American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation or American Board of Preventive Medicine
- DEA license
- California Medical Board Physician and Surgeon License
