The University of Chicago's Department of Surgery, Section of Neurosurgery, is searching for a full-time faculty member at any rank. The appointee will have inpatient and outpatient responsibilities. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. We especially welcome applicants who have experience and interest in neurosurgical trauma/critical care or complex spinal surgery. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.
The University of Chicago Medicine is a Level 1 Trauma Center as well as a Joint Commission Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, 3) be Board certified or eligible through the American Board of Neurological Surgery or equivalent, and 4) be fellowship trained or have postgraduate experience in spinal surgery.
