Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, invites applications for the position of Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery at the Assistant Professor level.



The Department of Neurosurgery at Rush University medical center seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position.  Fellowship training is preferred in the specific area of stereotactic and functional neurosurgery. Clinical responsibilities include treatment of patients with movement disorders, intractable pain, epilepsy, and psychiatric disorders using surgical techniques including deep brain stimulation, stereotactic radiosurgery, focused ultrasound, laser interstitial thermal therapy, stereo-encephalograpy, and resective surgery. Teaching responsibilities include education of medical students, residents, and fellows, including direct oversight of the stereotactic and functional neurosurgery fellow. Research or scholarship responsibilities may include research in stereotactic and functional neurosurgery with funding from the NIH or other federal agencies or industry.



Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree. Applicants must be ABNS certified or board eligible. Candidates should have a strong desire in developing innovative clinical programs in functional neurosurgery and assisting in the growth of the clinical and research program.
