Academic Comprehensive Care Physicians – Hospital Medicine
The University of Chicago's Department of Medicine, Section of Hospital Medicine, is searching for full-time faculty members at any rank. The appointees will provide longitudinal inpatient and outpatient care to patients at increased risk of hospitalization in conjunction with an interdisciplinary team. Direct patient care responsibilities include managing patients with complex subspecialty needs and limited off-hours and weekend coverage. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.
The Section of Hospital Medicine has nationally recognized research and education programs that build on collaborations throughout the University and is active in clinical operations and quality improvement in the Medical Center.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, and 3) be Board certified or eligible in Internal or Hospital Medicine.
