Orthopedic Surgeon in Colorado's Rocky Mountains

We previously received a large number of interested applicants for this position, and we offered the job to an orthopedist who in turn accepted the position. However, this orthopedist subsequently chose to resume working for a former employer, so we are resuming our search for a qualified orthopedic surgeon.

Vail Summit Orthopaedics and Neurosurgery (VSON) is a 10 physician group in Colorado's Rocky Mountains with offices in Vail, Edwards, and Frisco CO. We are expanding throughout our mountain region. We are excited to be opening an office in Granby, CO in partnership with Middle Park Health, the Medical Center in Granby CO. We are looking for an orthopedic surgeon to live in Granby, Fraser, or Winter Park CO and work at Middle Park Health in Granby CO. This is one of the most beautiful areas of Colorado's Rocky Mountains with world class skiiing at Winter Park Ski Resort, as well as hiking, biking, fly fishing, and pristine lakes all out your back door.

A candidate must be BC/ BE and no visa waivers will be considered. Orthopedic fellowship training is not required. An orthopedic surgeon with at least a few years of experience is preferred, but we would consider a new graduate. There is no ER call. A physician assistant and other clinical staff will be provided. There is a 550k guaranteed salary for the first 2 years of employment, as well as the potential for an additional productivity bonus. After 2 years of employment, the surgeon then moves to a productivity model with the potential to make significantly more income. There is also the potential for additional ancillary income in the future as early discussions have been had to create a surgery center in partnership with Middle Park Health. VSON has great health care and retirement benefits, including health insurance, a 401k, and a cash balance plan. You can take 6 weeks of vacation and 2 weeks of CME per year. VSON's physicians and PA's will cover your patients when you are out of town. 

The ideal orthopedic surgeon would be someone who is comfortable functioning independently. However, subspecialists from VSON will hold outreach clinics at your office in Granby on a rotating basis in order to see and treat complex cases that may be outside your scope of training. Although you will be functioning independently, you are a partner in a larger phyisician group and will always have the support of all of the physicians at VSON as well as the help of our highly capable management team.
