EM - Medical Director - AHN Wexford Hospital

As a medical director at USACS, you will be responsible for collaborating with the hospital and nursing leadership while offering support to your physician staff. You will serve as a leader both within the emergency room, and as a leader within the organization. Prior experience is required to be considered for this position.

• Oversee the operations of the ED in collaboration with nursing leadership and hospital administration
• Supervise the EM staff, per the bylaws, policies and procedures of the institution
• Represent the ED in the community and within the hospital medical staff

• The hospital will open with 100 private rooms, with the capability to expand to 160 private rooms if needed

  • Labor, delivery and neonatal intensive care
  • Advanced imaging services
  • Laboratory testing
  • Minimally-invasive, robotic-assisted surgery
  • Critical care unit
  • Advanced cardiac care and testing, including cardiac catheterization
  • All major specialties represented with easy access to a full continuum of care through the award-winning Allegheny Health Network physicians and facilities

• ED Volume: 30,000
• Moderate acuity with broad pathology (anticipated)
• Full-service ED with special areas for pediatric and behavioral health patients
• Open, efficient layout with 24 ED rooms including two behavioral health and four pediatric rooms
• EPIC EMR with M-Modal dictation
• Two CT scanners and MRI in the imaging unit directly adjacent to the ED
• Facilities for LifeFlight helicopter and ambulance services
• Active with local EMS
