1 Yr Critical Care Fellowship- Tufts Medical Center- Boston, MA

Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts is seeking candidates for a one-year Critical Care Fellowship position. Candidates must have graduated from a two-to-three year ACGME accredited fellowship in an internal medicine subspecialty (cardiology, nephrology etc.).

The successful candidate will rotate through different intensive care units as they learn the nuances of patient care in each of these settings. Our multidisciplinary approach ensures that each trainee is comfortable taking care of critically ill patients in any setting. At the end of the year of training, candidates will be eligible to sit for the Critical Care Medicine certification exam.

This training opportunity can be tailored to the particular goals of the candidate and their training history. At a minimum, candidates will become comfortable with procedures including bronchoscopy, intubation, pleural procedures and vascular access. Critical care ultrasound skills are emphasized as part of routine patient care and in procedures. Exposure to and training in managing mechanical circulatory support devices, including Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), is built into the year of training.

Candidates must have completed an accredited ACGME fellowship and have interest in working in an academic environment. Outstanding teaching skills are essential as the Medical Center is the principal teaching hospital for Tufts University School of Medicine.
