Orthopaedic Surgery Program Director

South Texas Medical School Seeks Inaugural Orthopaedic Surgery Program Director 

The UTRGV SOM seeks a Board-Certified physician in Orthopedic Surgery with experience in teaching residents both in the inpatient and outpatient clinical setting and in the classroom. In addition, they will participate in direct patient care, scholarly activity, faculty development, patient safety and quality improvement initiatives, prepare and provide didactics, participate in the evaluation of the residents & the program, and prepare for and participate in ACGME and other accreditation and non-accreditation site visits. As faculty, they will also administer and maintain a professional educational environment conducive to educating residents in each of the ACGME competencies and in assisting them to reach their individual Milestones. Salary, academic rank, and title will be awarded commensurate with academic qualifications and certification.

Minimum Qualifications: Five years of progressive experience in an academic program.  MD degree with Board Certification in Orthopedic Surgery (American Board of Orthopedic Surgery) and/or specialty.  Must possess or be eligible for a Texas Medical license.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a GME Accredited Residency or Fellowship Program. Prior experience as a Program Director or Associate/Assistant Program Director.
