Acute Medicine Physician
The Department of Medicine at the Louis Stokes Cleveland Department of Veterans Affairs (LSCDVAMC) is seeking two full-time staff physicians interested in an Acute Medicine position. Clinical responsibilities include patient care duties within multiple venues of the medical center including the inpatient medical wards, our Community Living Center (CLC), and the Emergency Department. Clinical hours will be variable, and applicant must have the clinical skill to provide care in all of these venues, including as a sole overnight provider.
Candidates will be eligible for faculty appointment at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will be part of an interdisciplinary team delivering patient-focused, quality care in the Emergency Department, CLC, and inpatient wards. Candidate must also have effective communication skills and work cooperatively with all staff that care for patients and their families. Clinical responsibilities include direct patient care and advanced practice provider supervision. As an Acute Medicine Physician, you will provide medical treatment and personal care services to ill and injured veterans.
Duties include documenting observations, assessments, and changes in patient's condition; collaborating with health team members to facilitate positive patient care outcomes; ordering appropriate diagnostic tests, performing procedures, and meeting performance measures. Our facility is seeking individuals who possess good organizational skills and the ability to establish effective communication with patients, families, visitors and members of the interdisciplinary team.
