The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Albany Medical College in Albany, NY is seeking a board-certified AP/CP general surgical pathologist to work full time as the medical director at Saratoga Hospital, one of our affiliated community hospitals. Saratoga Hospital is a 171-bed hospital located in Saratoga Springs, NY (approximately 40 miles north of Albany). Candidates should hold or be eligible for a NYS license and necessary Certificate of Qualifications to serve as the medical director. In addition, candidates are expected to provide on-site diagnostic pathology services along with two other pathologists.
Affiliate hospital-based pathologists benefit from activities on the main campus such as access/participation in subspecialty consensus conferences, multidisciplinary tumor board conferences and grand rounds/visiting professorships by virtual connection.
The candidate will join a healthcare system-wide department of 22 pathologists who collectively staff 4 hospitals, Albany Medical Center, Saratoga Hospital, Columbia Memorial Health Hospital, and Glens Falls Hospital. Albany Medical Center is home to an ACGME accredited pathology residency training program consisting of 14 residents as well as 2 fellows.
