North Oaks Medical Center, conveniently located in Hammond, LA within an hour of both New Orleans and Baton Rouge, boasts 355 beds and 14 expansive operating suites, making North Oaks the largest health care delivery system in our region.  North Oaks Medical Center is verified by the American College of Surgeons as a Level II Trauma Center, and is also stroke-certified.  We have proudly provided quality care and service to our community for more than 50 years.

North Oaks Medical Center has received the prestigious Blue Cross Blue Shield BlueDistinction Center for Maternity Care.  Our accommodations include 6 private Labor, Delivery and Recovery Suites that offer whirlpool tubs, and 14 all-private patient rooms on our OB/GYN Unit, along with Well Baby, Intermediate Care, and Neonatal Intensive Care Nurseries.

Our Level 3 NICU ranks among the top 25% in the US, according to the Vermont Oxford Study in its review of patient outcomes in selected areas.  

North Oaks' lactation consultants are all board-certified, and recently earned Louisiana's primary breastfeeding designation, given by The Gift, for improving hospital practices and policies aligned with Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding.
