Acute Care Surgery Opportunity :

Centra Medical Group is seeking a board-certified general surgeon to join our group at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital as an acute care surgeon.

Team :  

• 5 dedicated ACS surgeons
• 10 general surgeons in all
• Support staff: ICU, pulmonologists, cardiology (top 50 program), full time inpatient GI (ERCP) coverage, nephrology, hospitalists, ortho, neurosurgery, pediatrics, urology, etc. 

Case Examples :

Cholecystectomy (lap and occasional open), appendectomies (lap and open), bowel resection, lysis of adhesions, incision and drainage, occasional trauma laparotomies, etc.

Opportunity Highlights :

• Inpatient surgicalist model (shift work) - 14 shifts per month
• ACS members - 80% bread and butter, 20% Trauma (90% of Trauma is blunt, 10% penetrating)
• Great referral base with multiple primary care offices in the area (Centra Surgery Services Include: Bariatrics, Vascular Surgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery, and Plastic Surgery Programs)
• Opportunity for robotics
• Practice at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital, Level II Trauma Center with 358 licensed beds
