The Department of Surgery, Section of General Surgery is seeking candidates for an instructional track or clinical track faculty position in the Division of Endocrine Surgery.  Applicants must be board eligible or certified by the American Board of Surgery in general surgery.  Requirements include demonstrated skills in thyroid surgery, parathyroid surgery and adrenal surgery. Formal fellowship training in Endocrine Surgery and four or more years’ experience as an attending faculty member are preferred.

The Department of Surgery at the University of Michigan, founded in 1850, is nationally recognized for excellence in patient care, education and research.  The Division of Endocrine Surgery, founded in 1979 by Dr. Norman W. Thompson, was the first in the nation.  The successful applicant will join 3 other dedicated Endocrine Surgery faculty and participate in the training of an Endocrine Surgery fellow each year.  The Division also supports a Multidisciplinary Endocrine Oncology program.  Demonstrated skills in clinical and research collaboration are preferred and a track record of excellence in research and extramural funding are also preferred.  Outstanding teaching skills for surgical residents and medical students are also necessary. 

While the academic rank for this position will be commensurate with the applicant’s credentials, an Associate Professor level position is preferred.  Please send your curriculum vitae to:
