Gulf Coast Medical Center is a 624 bed acute care facility that is centrally located in Fort Myers FL.  Gulf Coast Medical Center houses the Neuroscience Institute, advanced cardiac catherization procedures, orthopedic services, and general surgery. The hospital offers 24/7 access to emergency care.  The Neuroscience division performs minimally invasive catheter procedures to treat stroke, as well as a dedicated neuroscience intensive care unit.

Lee Health system is non-profit organization comprised of more than 14,000 employees, 4,500 volunteers, and more than 630 employed primary care and specialty care providers with more than 30 practice locations throughout Southwest Florida.  The organization has four acute care hospitals and two specialty hospitals that together house 1,812 hospital beds.

Position Information:

LPG Pulmonology is seeking a physician board eligible/board certified in Critical Care Medicine (board certification in Pulmonary is preferred but not required) to join their busy team.  This high-quality physician group is team oriented, hardworking and covers the brand new intensive care unit at Gulf Coast Medical Center.  Candidates for this position will be proficient in intubation, management of ventilators and placement of chest tubes, arterial lines and HD catheters.  This position is 12-hour night shifts, 7 days on and 7 days off for 26 weeks out of the year.  Some key benefits of this position are: 1. AP support on the shifts who are proficient in procedures to help support physician, 2. No expectation of work outside of ICU/no management of codes, 3. Partially closed unit with mandatory critical care consultations, and 4. Overlap coverage from day to night team for several hours 5.  Work with a collegial team of intensivists that provide good quality evidence based care.
