The Division of Geriatric Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and the Vanderbilt Memory and Alzheimer’s Center are jointly recruiting an outstanding early career geriatrician candidate for an Assistant Professor faculty opportunity. The position is structured for a geriatrician with clinical expertise in mild cognitive impairment, Alzheimer’s disease, and related dementias. The candidate would join a growing Division of Geriatric Medicine that is comprised of physicians, advance practice nurses, gerontologists, and a clinical pharmacist. 

The Division resides in the Department of Medicine, which offers a strong and collegial environment for interdisciplinary clinical teams, prolific research collaborations, and innovative educational initiatives at all training levels. One such prolific research collaboration is with the Vanderbilt Memory and Alzheimer’s Center, a robust interdisciplinary research Center focused on identifying molecular factors that increase risk or promote resilience to Alzheimer’s disease and concomitant pathology.

In addition to providing multidisciplinary outpatient clinical care through the Division of Geriatric Medicine, the candidate will integrate into the robust interdisciplinary program at the Vanderbilt Memory and Alzheimer’s Center as an essential co-investigator. The opportunity for clinical trials and participation with NIH studies will be facilitated by the collaborative cognitive aging investigative group that includes neuropsychology, geriatric psychiatry, neurology, neuroscience, radiology, cardiovascular medicine, engineering, chemistry, pharmacology, genetics, and biostatistics.

Position Requirements
Applicants must be board certified or board eligible in geriatrics and must be able to obtain medical licensure in the State of Tennessee.
