The Dell Medical School at The University of Texas at Austin is seeking an exceptional physician to join the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in the Department of Internal Medicine as Section Chief of Hepatology.

Dell Medical School s Department of Internal Medicine is seeking a Section Chief of Hepatology, who along with the Chief of Gastroenterology and the Chair of Medicine, will help build the clinical and research programs in Hepatology.
Consistent with the mission of the Dell Medical School and Department of Internal Medicine, the focus will be ensuring the delivery of high-quality, value-based care in liver diseases including setting up outpatient programs for Hepatitis C screening and treatment, treatment and longitudinal care of patients with cirrhosis, and care of pre-liver transplant and post-transplant patients, with the goal of developing a solid organ transplant program in the near-term future. Responsibilities will include ensuring timely and appropriate consult service for inpatients, excellent outpatient care, and providing a great learning experience for medical students and residents. The Section Chief will help lead clinical trials and recruit additional hepatologists as the scope and volume of clinical and research practice grows. The Section Chief will be an integral part of discussions around building a new liver transplant program.
We are seeking applicants with 7 years or more experience as a hepatologist.
Demonstrated leadership experience in the care delivery setting.
MD degree with Board Certification in Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
Unrestricted license (or ability to obtain within 90 days of appointment) to practice medicine in the State of Texas.
