Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs

The University of Massachusetts Medical School (UMMS) seeks a visionary and dynamic leader to serve as Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs (VPFA). 

 The Opportunity:  The VPFA at UMMS will provide leadership in the areas of faculty academic appointments, promotions and tenure, faculty governance bodies, faculty development and advancement, and, in collaboration with department chairs and deans, on faculty retention.  In addition, the VPFA will support efforts for increasing the diversity of UMMS faculty, along with creating a faculty environment that fosters inclusion and wellness.  The VPFA will have primary responsibility for faculty issues including, but not limited to, development, interpretation, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and communication of academic personnel and faculty governance policies and procedures.  The VPFA will also serve as a liaison between faculty and the chairs of departments and administration, with the goal of fostering, sustaining, and maintaining the collaborative culture among all academic entities.  For more information about UMMS and the Office of Faculty Affairs, please visit www.umassmed.edu and www.umassmed.edu/ofa.
