Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer

The University of Maryland Medical System seeks a visionary and dynamic leader to serve as Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer.

The Opportunity:  The Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer at the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) will provide leadership in all areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion, while fostering a community whose voices and contributions are valued and respected.  The Chief DEI Officer reports directly to the UMMS President and serves as a member of the President’s senior leadership team.  This position will work collaboratively throughout the system, supporting institutional change and transparent lines of communication between organizational branches.  The Chief DEI Officer will build individual and institutional capacity to achieve DEI excellence and ensure equity in health across the communities served by UMMS.  The ideal Chief DEI Officer candidate will have at least a bachelor's degree with 5+ years of diversity and inclusion leadership experience.  An advanced degree is preferred.  Candidates should also have significant management experience across team building, strategic planning, and project execution in a healthcare setting.  Candidates must be accessible to stakeholders across the system.

About UMMS:  The University of Maryland Medical System delivers comprehensive health care services, including physician networks and health plans, throughout Maryland.  UMMS physicians and skilled care teams work hand-in-hand with University of Maryland School of Medicine specialists to provide primary and specialty care at more than 150 locations across the state, including a network of academic, community and specialty hospitals.
