The University of New Mexico, Health Sciences Center, Department of Internal Medicine, seeks a faculty member to join the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. The division cares for a unique array of critically ill patients in a diverse, underserved population. As the only academic medical center for the state, opportunity exists for innovation in teaching and providing care for both rural and urban populations from diverse cultures. We seek a clinician that will provide consultative services on the inpatient services and outpatient clinics at the University Hospital, and associated Sandoval Regional Medical Center and our Veterans Affairs Hospital. This position is for an Assistant/Associate, clinician educator track. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and education. Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be board certified in Internal Medicine;
  • Board certified/eligible in Pulmonary/Critical Care by date of hire; and
  • Must be eligible to work in the US upon date of hire

Desirable Qualifications:

  1. Experience working in academic intensive care units;
  2. Evidence of strong focus on education of trainees
  3. Evidence of scholarship with peer reviewed publications/national presentations d). Administrative experience on committees
