The Locarnini Fellowship in Virology has been developed to support post-doctoral fellows or early to mid-career researchers specialising in virology. This fellowship is an exciting opportunity offering a full-time, three year fixed-term research position to a researcher in the area of virology. The successful applicant will develop and lead a research program in their defined area. The candidate is expected to develop their research career pathway in this role, while contributing to the Doherty Institute’s body of work in virology. The focus of work can be laboratory-based virology or pathogenesis, epidemiology, clinical research, public health or clinical trials.
The Locarnini Fellow in Virology will be based in the Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity (Doherty Institute). The Doherty Institute is joint venture between The University of Melbourne and The Royal Melbourne Hospital, combining research, teaching, public health and reference laboratory services, diagnostic services and clinical care in infectious diseases and immunity.
