Reporting directly to the Market President with a matrix reporting relationship to the Care Division Medical Officer, the Medical Officer (MO) has clinical leadership responsibility for the full continuum of care in all areas served within the Adventist Health market. Leads all medical related activities within a designated area. Provides strategic and operational direction for the delivery of Adventist Health’s clinical care model and will work in close partnership with key clinical and operational leaders to ensure the highest level of patient safety and care.

The MO serves as the senior physician leader in the market, with the role spanning medical and clinical staff alignment and engagement, market strategy, finance and operations-related topics. Leadership activities include, but are not limited to: bringing the clinical voice forward, being the patient advocate, acting as a subject matter expert for clinical staff and administration, overseeing care transformation initiatives directed by clinical cabinets. Leads the roll out of local initiatives within the market, and ensuring the overall continuous quality improvement of care delivery. The MO will also focus on mentoring and developing the existing and future physician and clinical leadership across the market.

CMO time will be split 60% administrative duties, 40% patient care.

Required Qualifications

  • MD/DO License
  • Board Certified
  • Meet hospital medical staff's credentialing standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 years experience as practicing physician
  • 15 years of progressively responsible management experience within healthcare system
  • Master's Degree in public health, healthcare administration or related discipline
