This is an opportunity to practice with a new employed Hospitalist service at 1-2 of AMITA's acute care hospitals, located in Chicago's Northwest Suburbs. You will be responsible for working with the interdisciplinary team to provide the best care for your patients with extensive specialty support, including intensivists.


The Hospitalist Site Medical Director represents the medical leadership for a new, growing Site Hospital Medicine Program and its staff, patients, and the community. The Director serves as the example for all aspects of the delivery of Hospital Medicine. Additionally, the Director provides leadership and management for the Hospital Medicine program at the local hospital level, to include physician/APC recruitment, scheduling, supervision and coordinating care between provider and non-provider staff to meet patient needs while emphasizing safety, efficiency, quality, and fiscal responsibility. The Director works collaboratively with hospital Medical Staff as well with local hospital leadership to provide Hospital Medicine services for patients.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Hospitalist, preferably in a leadership capacity
  • Depth of knowledge and experience in the financial, managerial, and marketing aspects of Hospital Medicine
  • Ability to speak effectively on Hospital Medicine administrative and clinical matters
  • Long-term career interest in Hospital Medicine and Medical administration
  • Board certification in Internal Medicine, Hospital Medicine, or Family Medicine
  • ACLS certification

Reporting Relationship: Direct reporting relationship to Chief Medical Director of Hospital Medicine, AMITA Health Medical Group with collaborative working relationship with local hospital Chief Medical Officer
