Excellent opportunity for a recently trained abdominal transplant surgeon to join a highly respected center in beautiful Milwaukee!

Join a successful, cohesive and growing Abdominal Transplant and Hepatobiliary program under the leadership of Dr. Ajay Sahajpal. This position is located at our quaternary care facility, Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.    

Training and experience required:

  • Completion of an accredited general surgery residency program
  • A fellowship in an ASTS accredited multi-organ transplant surgery program
  • Demonstration of current experience in liver, kidney and pancreatic transplant as well as cadaveric organ procurement. 
  • Interest in hepatobiliary surgery would be welcomed. 
  • Patient centered with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to function well as part of a multi-disciplinary team

  • Cohesive team of transplant specialists includes a comprehensive support staff, dedicated transplant Hepatologists, Nephrologists, Anesthesia, ICU and Infectious Disease specialists
  • Surgeons perform kidney, pancreas and liver transplantation, living kidney donation as well as complex hepatobiliary surgery
  • The Liver Program is modest in size and has excellent quality outcomes within Region 7 and nationally
  • This is the only liver program in the newly expanded Advocate Aurora Health System
  • Investigator-initiated research and clinical trials through our research institute
  • Teaching opportunities as both medical students and GI fellows rotate through the service
  • Opportunity for an adjunct faculty appointment through UW School of Medicine and Public Health
