Quinnipiac University is a private university in Hamden and North Haven, CT offering more than 110 programs to approximately 7,000 undergraduate students and 3,000 graduate, medical, and law students.

The Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine (“School,” “Netter School,” or “SOM”) was established in 2010 with a gift from the Netter family and a $100 million investment by the University. The Netter School is led by the Founding Dean, Dr. Bruce Koeppen.

The SOM has full accreditation status and is up for reaccreditation in October 2021.  While the School only welcomed its first class in 2013 and graduated its inaugural class of medical students in May 2017, it has already established a national reputation and a strong track record of success, with graduates matching into a wide range of highly sought-after residency programs nationwide such as Yale, Baylor, Stanford, and Boston Children’s Hospital.

To help promote an interdisciplinary approach to health care and active student collaboration, the School is co-located in Quinnipiac’s Center for Medicine, Nursing, and Health Sciences with the professional schools of nursing, health sciences, and law. This state-of-the-art facility was custom-designed to promote active, collaborative learning and include small-group learning settings and extensive clinical skills training facilities adaptable to evolving learning modalities and technologies.

The Netter School was founded with the aim of educating diverse, patient-centered physicians who are partners and leaders in an interprofessional primary-care workforce. The primary-care mission has expanded to include institutes for rehabilitation medicine and global public health.

Quinnipiac seeks a strategic and visionary leader to build on its academic excellence, enhance its diversity, and further advance the reputation of the School. The Dean will develop and implement strategies to position the School and its graduates as competent professionals in an evolving healthcare landscape. In addition to serving as the academic leader of the school, the Dean will be a key contributor to institutional success through enhanced responsibilities in fiscal and administrative matters, regular analysis of labor market trends, assessment of changes in the skills demanded by employers, and collaboration with faculty and staff in modifying programs in response to labor market and skills trends.

The Dean provides strategic vision and operational leadership of the School, managing policies, programs, budgets, and resource allocation to achieve its mission. The Dean is expected to set the highest standards of intellectual engagement and accomplishment for the School, further creating an environment that supports the School community and its clinical partners.

Inquiries, nominations, and expressions of interest should be sent to QUDean@russellreynolds.com.
