Scientific Director of Solid Tumor Oncology NGS and Biocomputing
The University of Utah Department of Pathology is recruiting a full-time faculty molecular pathologist to serve as Scientific Director of Solid Tumor Oncology NGS and Biocomputing. This position will be primarily based at ARUP Laboratories and at the senior ranks of Associate Professor or Professor in either the clinical or tenure track, depending on the qualifications of the candidate. Appropriate individuals should have M.D. or M.D., Ph.D. degrees and be board certified in Anatomic Pathology and Molecular Genetic Pathology by the American Board of Pathology. Extensive prior experience with the design and implementation of NGS based assays and related informatics in the oncology field (solid tumor and/or hematological malignancies) will be essential.
ARUP Laboratories is a national reference laboratory owned and operated by the University of Utah Department of Pathology offering molecular testing of solid tumors on a variety of platforms, including next generation (massively parallel) sequencing. The successful candidate will lead an interdisciplinary team to develop, implement, and support genomics assays for solid tumor oncology. Responsibilities include oversight of scientific and technical operations for research and development personnel, as well as the clinical genomics laboratory. The candidate will also participate in the clinical molecular oncology sign-out service and in the educational, academic and research missions of the University.
