The Stanford University Department of Neurosurgery has one of the largest programs in Radiosurgery, Neurosurgical Oncology and Neurogenetics in the U.S.A. We offer a broad range of treatments including open surgery, radiosurgery and other innovative modalities. Stanford pioneered Cyberknife radiosurgery.

Our Neurosurgery Department offers a position as Clinical Instructor of Neurosurgery in the field of Radiosurgery and Neurosurgical Oncology. The Clinical instructor should have completed her/his neurosurgical training in the U.S.A., Canada or European Countries and fulfill the requirements of the Medical Board of California. The USMLE Step 3 is necessary. The Clinical instructor is considered a junior member of the Department of Neurosurgery faculty and is required to be able to perform general cranial neurosurgical procedures independently as well as to quickly develop proficiency in all the aspects of radiosurgery, from patient selection to neurosurgical planning and treatment delivery to patient follow-up. The Clinical Instructor should have a strong commitment to educate neurosurgery residents and to collaborate with our radiosurgery team (including radiation oncologists, physicists, nurses) and with visiting research post-doctoral scholars coming from all around the world to our Program.

The clinical instructor is encouraged to develop a niche of scientific interest in a topic related to radiosurgery and/ or neurosurgical oncology. We offer a large range of opportunity for collaboration with other medical, surgical and basic research groups and laboratories at the Stanford University, in order to support the academic career development of the Clinical Instructor.
