Cardiovascular Medicine physician

The Heart and Vascular Center and the Department of Medicine of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC), and The Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, are seeking a Section Chief of Cardiovascular Medicine. This individual will lead the clinical, academic and programmatic missions of the Section. In collaboration with the Director of the Heart and Vascular Center, the Section Chief will oversee and develop operational policies for the clinical programs of the section, and set policies and goals for clinical quality improvement. This includes a growing focus on population health and collaboration within the academic medical center and within its network of regional health care facilities. Critical aspects of the position also include the oversight and growth of the Section’s research and training programs, and the development and mentoring of its faculty.

The Section of Cardiovascular Medicine is engaged in the full spectrum of cardiovascular care, including a busy interventional cardiology and structural heart disease program, electrophysiology services, advanced imaging, and programs in heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, prevention, vascular medicine, and sports cardiology. We provide tertiary and quaternary services and routine cardiovascular care at our main campus in Lebanon, NH, and also provide cardiovascular services at our community group practices in Southern New Hampshire and at regional medical institutions.

DHMC is committed to discovery, translation and implementation of new knowledge to improve the health of our community. The Heart & Vascular Center has a robust research portfolio focused on clinical and population health supported by funding from the NIH/NHLBI, the American Heart Association, and other foundations, and is engaged in numerous clinical trials. The research program is supported by expert mentors, training programs and dedicated administrative, technical and analytic resources. We have robust collaborative ties with the Geisel School of Medicine, The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice (TDI), and Dartmouth College’s Center for Translational Science Award (CTSA).

DHMC is located in Lebanon, New Hampshire in the beautiful upper valley of the Connecticut River. This area is a vibrant academic and professional community that offers an outstanding quality of life, excellent schools and is the home of Dartmouth College.
