Become a physician leader! The Department of Veteran's Affairs, Nebraska Western Iowa Health Care System (NWIHCS) is seeking a full-time AP & CP board certified pathologist to lead its Pathology and Laboratory Medicine (P&LM) Service Line.

Ideal candidate: successfully completed a residency in both Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, be AP/CP board certified, be licensed in at least one state and have at least five years of practice experience with at least one year at a medium sized or larger hospital. Additionally, a track record of demonstrated leadership in Pathology and/or Laboratory Medicine, as well as demonstrated success in managing CAP and other regulatory requirements, is required.

Opportunity entails:

• Provide leadership and supervision to a staff of 70 FTE regarding Service Line operations, policies, and practices.
• Provide a wide range of onsite services in all areas of the general laboratory.
• The Department processed and interpreted over 6,600 surgical cases, 2,000 cytology cases, 60 bone marrows and 15 autopsy cases last year.
• Clinical laboratory operates 24/7 and reported out 1.5 million tests last year.
• Omaha VA is a major teaching affiliate of the University of Nebraska Medical School and Creighton University.
