The University of California, Irvine Health (UCI Health) invites inquiries, nominations, and applications for the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

This is an extraordinary opportunity for a highly accomplished healthcare executive to lead a preeminent academic medical center through a period of tremendous growth. The new CEO will join UCI Health during a time of rapid expansion, with significant infrastructure projects underway, including the construction of a new 112 inpatient bed hospital in the heart of Irvine, expected to be completed in 2025. UC Irvine is an innovative institution with tremendous assets – a world-class re-search university, a public mission with a strong commitment to its community, and internationally acclaimed clinical and research faculty that support superb resident and fellowship training programs. As the only academic medical center in Orange County, UCI Health serves a diverse population with broad healthcare needs, and is on the precipice of robust market expansion in the coming decade. With a focus on an expanded ambulatory care model, improved care delivery standards, and a unique clinical strategy that champions integrative health, the new CEO will provide strategic direction over the delivery of a new model of care, playing a key role in defining the future of academic medicine in the region and positioning the system for broader national influence.

As the only University-based care provider in Orange County, UC Irvine Health is a multifaceted organization dedicated to the discovery of new medical frontiers, the teaching of future healers, and the delivery of the finest evidence-based care. UCI School of Medicine is ranked one of the top 50 U.S. medical schools for research by U.S. News & World Report and is home to one of only 50 National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer centers in the country. UCI Health System has been rated one of the nation’s best hospitals by U.S. News & World Report for 19 straight years, and it is the only Level I trauma center and Level II pediatric trauma center in Orange County.
