Cleveland Clinic, one of the world s most distinguished academic medical centers, announces a search for the Department Chair of Wellness & Preventative Medicine within the Cleveland Clinic Community Care (4C) Institute.

The Department of Wellness & Preventative Medicine was established in 2008. Today the department provides care to over 38,000 patients annually by delivering healing-oriented, evidence based medicine that takes account of the whole patient (body, mind, and spirit), including all aspects of lifestyle. The department provides services at ten clinical Cleveland Clinic sites including: Lyndhurst, Amherst, Avon, Broadview Heights, Lakewood, Main Campus, Strongsville, Transportation Boulevard, Twinsburg and Willoughby Hills. The department offers both conventional and alternative therapies across an array of services: integrative physician consults, lifestyle physician consults, nutrition consults, culinary medicine consults, chiropractic care, acupuncture, holistic psychotherapy, massage therapy, Chinese herbal therapy, fitness/personal trainers and yoga.

The Department of Wellness & Preventative Medicine is comprised of staff physicians, chiropractor physicians, acupuncturists, culinary medicine specialists, psychotherapists, nutritionists, massage therapists and yoga instructors. The department partners closely with teams from other clinical areas at Cleveland Clinic to provide programs and Shared Medical Appointments (SMAs) to improve patient care and outcomes. Current programs/SMAs that are offered include: Eating Well for Optimal Health, Living Well with Chronic Pain, Lifestyle Essentials, Brain Health and Wellness, Living Well After Breast Cancer, Nutrigenomics, Dr. Esselstyn s Program, Women s Wellness Retreat and Virtual Visits.

The Department of Wellness & Preventative Medicine at Cleveland Clinic is dedicated to addressing the physical as well as lifestyle, emotional and spiritual needs of patients. The department s team of experts guide patients through dietary and lifestyle changes by introducing them to integrative therapies that can complement their lifestyle for optimal wellness. The Department Chair will be instrumental in assuring the department remains at the forefront providing the most updated world-class medical care and quality wellness programs to education and treat patients.

The ideal candidate for the Department Chair of Wellness & Preventative Medicine should be a recognized Physician leader within Wellness & Preventative Medicine as an outstanding clinician, educator, and scholar, who supports research and education within a multi-specialty organization. The Department Chair will have ultimate responsibility for the clinical, educational, research, and fiscal oversight within the department in order to achieve personal and institutional success. The Department Chair must be a demonstrated Physician leader with strength in communication and collaboration both within and outside of the department. A faculty appointment at a rank commensurate with experience is available at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.
