UCLA Health now seeks nominations and applications for the Chief Medical Officer of the Ronald Reagan Medical Center.

Reporting to the Chief Medical and Quality Officer of UCLA Health, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for the Ronald Reagan Medical Center serves as a key senior leader, leading the campus& quality improvement and patient safety efforts, with the goal of achieving and maintaining world-class clinical and patient-centered outcomes.

The CMO will be responsible for the medical center’s clinical quality, performance improvement, patient safety and patient experience initiatives, patient management and throughput, clinical program development, regulatory affairs, and medical staff relations, in addition to providing support for medical staff affairs and graduate medical education affairs.

The ideal candidate will possess a unique combination of skills and abilities to successfully manage a complex set of responsibilities in an academic health system setting, including: a demonstrated record of accomplishment with, and commitment to, leading clinical quality and patient safety initiatives; knowledge of quality and safety process improvement and related legal and accreditation issues; demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relations with clinical chiefs, chairs and medical staff; financial acumen and understanding of reimbursement matters related to the Accountable Care Act; experience managing operational growth and capacity issues; capacity to effectively and diplomatically lead change management; a collaborative and collegial leadership style that inspires trust; a deep commitment to the mission, vision and values of the organization; and a tireless advocate for equity, diversity and inclusion.
 
A minimum of seven years of clinical experience as a practicing physician with a stellar record, as well as seven to ten years of increasingly responsible healthcare leadership experience within a complex environment is preferred.  An M.D., D.O., or equivalent is required.  Successful candidate will be eligible for appointment to an appropriate UCLA faculty series.
