The Department of Dermatology at the Warren Alpert Medical School, Brown University is recruiting full-time faculty. Candidates must be board-eligible/board certified in dermatology, and be eligible for appointment at Brown at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor. The Charles J. McDonald Clinical and Process Improvement Scholarship Program (CPI) is being offered to attract faculty candidates interested in general medical dermatology who would like to develop or leverage expertise in clinical improvement, process improvement, or quality improvement. In addition to a competitive compensation model with productivity incentives and excellent benefits, Brown Dermatology will also provide loan opportunities.  Academic faculty selected for this special CPI program will have the opportunity to develop a clinical, administrative or research niche through training in ‘reduction of variation’ and process improvement.

Brown Dermatology is the only academic dermatology service in the State of Rhode Island. We are also the largest group providing comprehensive dermatologic care in the region extending to Southern Massachusetts and Eastern Connecticut. Our patient-mix is broad, transcending general dermatology and complex medical, procedural and aesthetic dermatology. An all-encompassing Department, Brown Dermatology has its own Division of Dermatopathology, Division of Procedural Dermatology and Mohs Surgery and Division of Pediatric Dermatology. Our faculty lead community out-reach programs regionally (Rhode Island Free Clinic, Sun Smarts Program) and internationally (Amman, Jordan and Eldoret, Kenya). There are myriad teaching opportunities available to faculty across two dermatology residency training programs in the State (Rhode Island Hospital and Roger Williams Medical Center) and through advanced fellowships in, e.g. Dermatology-Rheumatology/Complex Medical Dermatology Fellowship, Derm-Epi Research Fellowship and Clinical Education Fellowship. The Clinical and Translational Research Program within the Department provides support with study design and biostatistics, IRB application preparation and grant submissions. Our clinical trials unit is highly supportive of faculty interested in leading trials.

Interested applicants should send a brief letter of interest and curriculum vitae to Abrar A. Qureshi, MD, MPH, Professor and Chair, Department of Dermatology, Warren Alpert Medical School and Rhode Island Hospital/Miriam Hospital via kate_lada@brown.edu
